Family as Celestial Body

<p><em>Family as Celestial Body</em> is a collection of poems that wrestles with the far-reaching effects of belonging to a large complex family. The reader is ushered through a journey of discovery with poems that probe sibling relationships culture motherhood and aging. In language that is metaphorical questioning and raw we come to know a Mestiza mother from the Philippines who arrived in the U.S. as the bride of a G.I. and birthed seven children. The varied forms and voice of the speaker in these poems express the oft-twined threads of grief and love.
