This book explores the experience of parents and staff and the staff''s effectiveness to determine areas of improvement for families that have an infant in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and offer the staff members the opportunity to discuss their role in relationship to the infant and the family. The findings of the study also indicated that nursing support was highly important to parents. The mothers felt that their stress was reduced when nurses were willing to help and explain their infant''s condition.Furthermore the study focuses on the need of the parents in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in helping them feel confident in recognizing and managing the problems that occur with a premature infant decreasing their anxiety and preparing them to take their infant home.
