<p>In the depression ravaged America of nineteen-thirty five men are found dead in a crowded speakeasy sitting serenely and unmarked in their chairs. The scene is nearly pastoral yet those present are so severely traumatized that even a sadistic gangster is sobbing and unwilling to discuss what happened. A diverse dysfunctional trio of detectives investigates battling racism and themselves as they discover a crime that is grandiose and terrible in its conception.</p>
