Feasibility of Treating Brewery Wastewater Using Bio Films

The book explores the use of moving bed bio-film technology to reclaim brewery effluent for plant use as an economical solution to reduce plant costs.Malting plants consume a huge amount of water which weigh much in the operating costs and hence the final price of the products hence the efforts to reduce costs by reclaiming effluent. Brewery plant effluent has high BOD from the germination stage and reasonable COD from seed handling from the farm.Biological treatment methods are the best way to recycle the effluent moving bed reactors are easy to install and can be integrated into an existing plant without need for much engineering changes.
