Feminist Folktales from India is a collection of Indian folk stories that presents images of strong, clever, and self-sufficient women. Most of these stories speak of women who think, live, and feel differently from the stereotypes of women that are, and have been, perpetuated through the ages. Hopefully, these stories will speak to all girls and women who read them. Hopefully, they will inform little girls that they don’t have to be anything other than who they are. And that if who they are is different from who they’re supposed to be, that can be a good thing.
