Fenella Romaine is having a bad day. Her agent no longer wants to represent her and her career as a bit part actress seems to have ground to a halt. A chance meeting with an old colleague from a happier time leads her to new challenges as a Foley Artist ceating sound effects for films and television. Working behind the scenes hidden away in a dark studio in London's vibrant Soho she enters a world where dead fish make the noise for aliens and cornflour doubles for snow and hopes the secret of her broken heart will remain undiscovered. But a familiar face glimpsed in a crowded street brings memories of an idyllic summer spent filming in the country with a boy she thought would never let her down...
