About The Book

The term Fibro-osseous lesions (FOL) is a generic designation of a group of disorders characterized by the replacement of normal bone by connective tissue with varying degrees of mineralization in the form of woven bone or cementum-like round acellular basophilic structures. The term fibro-osseous is descriptive nosologically limited and diagnostically non-specific. It is important to appreciate that a histologic diagnosis of the fibro-osseous lesion is non-specific and has a limited value in predicting biologic behavior or guiding treatment.
