About The Book

Today marks the fourth year since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic on March 11 2020. We've now eased mask-wearing and frequent hand sanitization with the World Health Organization lifting the PHEIC designation on May 5 2023. However the threat of zoonotic diseases remains urging us to ponder how to close the pandemic chapters. The answer lies in operationalizing the One Health approach—a collective effort across human animal and environmental domains to combat invisible enemies akin to Goddess Durga's collective energy. This book aims to elucidate the genesis of zoonotic diseases their outbreaks and the solutions through the accessible lens of the One Health approach. Let's unite to conquer these invisible foes and harmful microbes that perpetuate global zoonotic threats.Disclaimer: One Health is above all religion and culture. Comparing One Health with Goddess Durga is purely based on my imagination as how the Goddess has been appearing in my mind from childhood.
