An Indian woman precisely on the brink of a halfcentury (as of 2024) I have lived just about three decades as an IT professional with an established married life and two beautiful daughters. Initially when people meet me many want to live a life like mine with all the luxuries and comforts available; however deep inside very few know the turbulence I had to go through to reach where I am today. Professionally I started working immediately after Engineering without a plan fearing that sitting idle would lead to a career gap. But I had to pay a high price for slow growth lack of interest in the job at hand and going up and down the corporate ladder. On a personal front while my childhood was very beautiful life after 16 took steep turns. I learned to stay independently in different cities and went through toxic relationships and breakups which shook me and created doubt within me. The toughest era had not started until I got married as my in-laws’ family was just the opposite of what I had grown into. My parents were liberal giving me the power to make decisions and live freely whereas after marriage I was watched at each step which made me over-conscious of myself. I had to provide accounts for every penny spent. Whenever I tried something I was criticized at every step because their thought process differed from mine.
