Financial Inclusion among Marginalized Women:A Case Study of Female Sex Workers at Ahmedabad

Financial Inclusion is quintessential for the well-being of any individual. It offers itself as an enabler or capability to grab opportunities to ameliorate the conditions of life. The current book tries to look into the conditions of profession of female sex workers and whether it is possible for offering alternative livelihood opportunities if an FSW wants to pick up other professions. Firstly the book gives an introduction to financial inclusion in India. And the second part concentrates on how FSWs operate and what are their thoughts about their profession and about alternating it in case they are finding themselves in marginalised and vulnerable positions. It is very difficult to include FSWs in the mainstream society. The focus is on how institutions can be instrumental to this end particularly in the city of Ahmedabad. The deliberations in the book will be particularly useful to researchers policy makers and academics who are interested in this area who will be benefitted by the discussions on insights from initiatives taken by institutions for the FSWs.
