The world is entering a new phase of technology. Considering the increased efficiency of authentication and security which collect specific information from each individual. Banks supermarkets and many other companies are in great demand for this identification technology but on the other hand they can be the target of malicious people who try to circumvent the system and cause damage. The purpose of this work was to demonstrate the risks that companies run with the use of authentication technology using fingerprint biometrics. Molds and copies of the fingerprints were developed using silicone and then tests A B and C were carried out (on three optical biometric readers from different brands each of which has its own system): Biometric readers A and C were vulnerable to the tests carried out with the silicone finger. From the results obtained it can be seen that despite being a promising technology it will only become secure after the development of systems that allow the identification of people who are present when the fingerprint is read.
