Fish and Limnology

Ecosystem is predominantly the basic and fundamental unit of ecology. Water resources are continuously deteriorating everyday at a quicker rate primarily due to hasty population and urbanization load. Declining water quality is currently a global issue. Limnology essentially deals with the study of fresh water and their inhabitants. Fish plays an important role in agriculture sector of India. The Main objective of this book entitled “Fish and Limnology” is to act as handbook to determine physical chemical and biological characteristics of fishes and ponds in order to utilize them for fish culture and thus generate employment opportunity for gainful earning among rural people by creating awareness among them through training on aquaculture practices.
