Fixed retainers

Retention should be considered as an integral part of orthodontics and should be planned as a part of treatment. Fixed retainers are way better than removable retainers in terms of patient compliance and in terms of stability of occlusion. So this work is mainly on the fixed retainers and the history and development of retainers. Why retention is necessary and the materials used for retainers and in which cases fixed retention is generally required.
