The story evolves around the development of their friendship and how that impacts on their different concerns.Eva Voytek Pfaufeder was born in 1923 in Vienna and this novella written in her nineties has emerged out of eight decades of an extraordinary life. Influenced by among other things Voltaire's 'Candide' the writing has a distinctive style and refuses to conform to any particular genre.
