Flood Risk Perception Assessment

Flood risk perception has recently become an important topic of discourse to policy makers concerned with risk management and safety issues. The knowledge of the public risk perception is considered a crucial aspect in modern flood risk management as it steers the development of effective and efficient flood mitigation strategies. Flood hazards are world-wide considered as one of the most significant natural disasters in terms of human impact and economic losses. The knowledge of flood risk perception and response which is an integral component of multi-hazard disaster management plan is an action oriented document detailing specific actions to be taken prior to floods which set grounds for effective execution of emergency response and recovery activities during and after floods.
