Flyte of the Century

Fifty years in the future an electronic fog known as the polar shroud covers the Arctic ice cap to curb climate change. The shroud has been geoengineered by maverick scientist Charlton Shalom but now Shalom has disappeared off the grid and the designer climate has begun running afoul of model projections.The warming trend has been a boon to the upper Midwest and formidable interests there arent keen on seeing it subverted. In an environment where every state in the union fields its own dirty version of the CIA the California Intelligence Bureau sends Unique Agent Ahab Oobops deep inside flyover territory to locate Shalom and determine whether he has been coopted by hostile elements. The mission to reclaim Shaloms allegiance or neutralize him in the interest of restoring the polar shroud requires Oobops to hammer a cantankerous crew into a capable force overcome his own tyrannical bureaucracy and accept the bizarre challenge cast into his path by the grand slam scientist hes pursuing. All thats at stake for the maligned wise-guy spy is his job his life and global catastrophe.
