The Food & Survival Plants along the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) series of handbooks is the culmination of almost 20 years of field work. These handbooks were created to introduce hikers to the abundance of wild and native foods along this 2650-mile long trail. This is the first of the six handbooks developed for the through- and section-hikers of the PCT and covers the first 110 miles from the Mexican border to Warner Springs. There are over 200 species of edible useful and medicinal plants in this short section of the PCT.
