Footprints in my Heart

<p><strong>Writing therapy</strong> and <strong>journaling</strong> in the form of <strong>poetry</strong> combined with <strong>photography</strong> and <strong>art</strong> is how Jen Hall demonstrates the use of creative expression as a <strong>therapeutic process</strong>. <strong>Creative expression</strong> and having a creative project to focus on can facilitate an ability to have some distance whilst also allowing <strong>authentic expression of thoughts and feelings</strong> that need to be voiced. Whilst Jen has published this project she states when you create something let it be for yourself: it doesn't have to be public it doesn't have to be good even though you might decide it's OK to be both. It's a wonderful opportunity to voice many things that need to find authentic expression in a direct or abstract way. </p><p>You might ask yourself <strong>what do I need to say that goes unsaid?</strong> <strong>What do I keep hidden within me that I want to release</strong>? What would feel like a creative and safe way for me to say what needs to be said? These are all <strong>quality questions</strong> we could ask ourselves to <strong>validate our thoughts and feelings</strong>. Giving voice in some safe and <strong>authentic</strong> way to what's inside can allow us to see <strong>what needs to heal</strong> and <strong>what we could let go of</strong>. </p><p>Could you be the <strong>child-like part of yourself</strong> who has <strong>fun with creative expression</strong> even if <strong>delving into the dark side</strong>? Allow a <strong>healing process</strong> to connect you with all parts of who you are. <strong>Cry get angry care laugh and love deeply and sincerely: find and be yourself for yourself</strong>. </p>
