For a Green Church in Francophone Africa

About The Book

The relationship between man and his environment is a historical reality that no one can ignore and does not date from today. This relationship is purely universal in that it is imposed on every person regardless of their geographical location. But this relationship between man and his environment has gradually changed until it has given rise to profound crises that call for a rethinking of our relationship and practices with respect to the environment. Faced with this crisis we have noticed that the men and women of the Protestant Church in Africa have not been able to anticipate this catastrophe by concrete actions on the ground. They have forgotten that man is part of this common house the earth which we want to destroy. Thus we believe that in the face of such a crisis the Christian ecological commitment in French-speaking Africa must be placed under the sign of urgency because of the threats that weigh on the survival of humanity. It is therefore time for the Protestant Churches in Africa to become truly involved in the universal effort that aims at the present and future balance of the common home earth.
