Innvation approach in education is gaining popularity nowadays. The aim of the publication is to report the genesis of the term «innovation»; to find out the peculiarities and interrelations on the terms «novelty» «innovation» «new development»; to present a detailed description of the key components of tearchers’ readiness to apply innovation technologies on foreign language lessons; to single out and characterize the signs and levels of teachers’ readiness to perform the mentioned activity.
