Forest Carbon Sequestration Studies in Himalayan Region

Recognizing the ecological importance of Himalayan forests in terms of their intrinsic values as life support system for the local people and as repository of regional biodiversity is much valued for the present day scenario. The forest resources in the Himalayan region are under continuous threat of climate change increase of human and domestic population and predator-prey conflicts as well as the management dimension. Under a rural landscape where the resource collection is a priority to day to day activities of women community the pressure of management the sustainable resources is high which ignites the need of in-depth research in aspect of forest resource management.
