Forest Fire Dynamics in Alaknanda Valley

This book is about the people perception on forest fire dynamics along the temporal and spatial change with altitudinal gradient. Garhwal Himalaya''s Alaknanda valley is renowned for its natural beauty. But in recent decades it is noticed that forest fire incidences has been increased vigorously in the valley. However to the best of my knowledge there were no studies carried out to know the perception of local people or other stakeholder about forest fire. In state like Uttarakhand (India) where most of the population dependent on forests it is important to know about the perception of people towards the forest fire. Considering these facts in mind the study was carried out in the Allaknanda valley to investigate what local people think about forest fire.
