Forest management in the changing climate

Forest plays an important role in global carbon sink. Although benefits from REDD + is under negotiation forest provides both carbon and non-carbon benefits which need to be trapped wisely. Different management practices may leads to different quantity of carbon benefits thus this study is conducted to assess and compare carbon stocks in two different management regimes/practices namely conservation area forest and community forest. Southern Program Section – Luwang Unit of Annapurna Conservation area of luwang ghalel vdc and Khahatikhola Kaulepani Community forest of Dhital VDC of Kaski district was compared for this study.
