Forest Soils

<p>A specific characteristic of forest soils is their long-term development under more or less continuous vegetation cover resulting in a deeper-reaching rooting zone higher humus content and porosity compared to soils of other land-use types. However some of these functions of forest soils are endangered by environmental and climate change or inadequate management.</p><p>This Special Issue will address specific functions of forest soils the processes that threaten these functions and management approaches that will preserve or recover them.</p>
