Cooperation between music schools and mainstream schools offers the opportunity to maintain and potentially even improve the quality of music education in times of a changing education system. In addition the presence of music schools in regular schools provides an ideal starting point for promoting interest in more in-depth instrumental and vocal lessons. However in order to ensure the success of a cooperation project it is important to take into account a number of challenges arising from the differences between the two institutions in terms of structure teaching methods and the qualifications of teachers. Particularly in team teaching projects which require cooperation between music school and regular school teachers inside and outside the classroom a high degree of attention is required in the design and planning stages in order to generate real pedagogical and didactic added value from the presence of an additional teacher in the classroom.
