English

About The Book

The study has as an overall objective to develop a multidimensional environmental well-being criterion aimed at protecting the environmentand to suggest ways towards sustainable development in Ghana and other developing countries particularly in Africa. To achieve the stated objective ten (10) research questions were raised based on the problem statement and literature. The research used a mixed-method for the data collection: survey questionnaire administration with quantitative analysis a focus group discussion of farmer-based groups and an interview with the municipality’s ministry of food and agriculture. 376 households were randomly sampled from 20 communities in the Abuakwa North and South municipalities. For comparative analysis 200 senior high school (SHS) students from four SHSs in four districts of the Eastern region of Ghana were also sampled to compare the environmental knowledge performance of the two groups.
