Formulation and Evaluation of Cephalexin Extended Release Tablet

In this study controlled release matrix tablets containing cephelexin were prepared using HPMC15 cps and Eudragit L100 in different concentration by Direct compression method. Tablets were evaluated for physical propertiesHardness friability weight variation and In vitro dissolution study was carried on USP II apparetus (peddle type). The best formulations selected based on above parameters were subjected for Extend release study with use of different ratio of polymer as Eudragit and HPMC .The tablets with Eudragit were found to release drug for longer duration of time as compared to formulations containing HPMC. The drug release from the tablets was sufficiently sustained.
