Fresh Water Fisheries

Fresh water supplies are not only vital to river fisheries they sustain thefisheries of associated wet land and influence estuarine and inshore marinefishes although fisheries are usually non-consumptive users of water.However water is required in particular quantities and seasonal timings offlows in rivers and their dependent water lands lakes and estuaries ensurewater sources. There is competition prevailing between the use of waterthat is used for agriculture and the provision of water in the quality andquantity required for fish production and services generated by inlandaquatic ecosystems. An attempt is made on these lines in this study.
