From Eden

This is the debut book by Indian author Aitijhya Mondal. A collection of poetry and prose this story follows a lovers journey of loss and healing over a year. Our protagonist imagines himself to be an inhabitant of the biblical garden of Eden but when his wife passes away Eden doesnt remain beautiful to him anymore. He comes down to earth and tries his best to overcome his loss. The beauty of Earth often reminds him of his wife and he loses himself in her memory hating her violently and loving her all at the same time. He keeps reaching out for her time after time only to realise that now she’s way beyond his reach.
