Mawlana (Rumi) (1207-1273) and Shahab al-Din Suhrawardi (1154-1191) are selected from the pre-modern world Kant from the modern world and Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) and Martin Heidegger (1889-1976) from the postmodern world. Each paper was presented in an academic setting most before international audiences and are now gathered together here in one volume.
