From the Evaluation of Certification to the Regulatory Framework

This book is one of the first and most relevant studies in Côte d''Ivoire on the implementation of the cocoa certification process. This study makes an in-depth analysis of the interactions between the actors in the cocoa value chain and identifies the level of margin captured by each actor. Faced with the dysfunctions observed in the implementation of certification in Côte d''Ivoire GBCC conducted this study with the contribution of KPMG on the financial aspects on behalf of the CGFCC.Its relevant recommendations laid the foundations for a regulatory and institutional framework for the certification process in the Côte d''Ivoire cocoa sector.Its key recommendations are as follows:1 The need to put in place a regulatory framework on certification2 Establish a single platform for cocoa certification (Public Private Partnership)3 Complement the current institutional framework with specific provisions4 Prospects for the supply of certified cocoa5 Need to create a national certification standard of Côte d''Ivoire origin.
