The idea for this guide arose from the difficulties encountered by many readers of scientific works who at every turn are stopped by the use of a concept whose precise meaning escapes them thus compromising their progress towards a concise and complete understanding.Readers can be secondary school pupils students and professionals in the fields of agronomy environment nutrition biology chemistry etc.).This guide has been written primarily for educational purposes as a service to those who do not always have sufficient documentation at their disposal.I have endeavored to give the etymology of most terms given that French derives mainly from the Romance language; and the terminology of science and technology which is growing gradually derives from Greek.This guide to defining terms is based on concepts encountered in most of the courses taught in the field of agronomy a list of which can be found at the end of the book.
