His life principles acquired from Christian ethics learned as a youth were perfected in the Marine Corps.</p><p>The US deployed Agent Orange herbicide in Vietnam during the war. The dioxins which persist in the soil today have adversely impacted its agricultural capability. The author's exposure to this toxic defoliant had profound consequences creating colon cancer and other health effects. These issues plus the traumatic events of the war also resulted in PTSD.
