FUNCTIONAL INDEPENDENCE OF THE POST-STROKE PATIENT

About The Book

Stroke is for all intents and purposes the manifestation of a cerebral vascular disease and its consequences are varied and depend on the extent and location of the nerve tissue damage (Cambier et al 2005). The aim of the rehabilitation process is to minimize the impact of the stroke on both the victim and their carer. Given this framework the research aimed to identify levels of functional independence in post-stroke patients and their correlation with sociodemographic and clinical variables comparing functional independence on admission with discharge.
