About The Book

My research emphasizes that the success of autonomous vehicles (AVs) and intelligent transport systems (ITS) is not merely a function of technical reliability but of behavioral integration. In my analysis my view argues that engineers often fall into the trap of technological determinism assuming that superior efficiency will automatically lead to widespread adoption.

However my view points out that behavioral economics reveals that users often reject more efficient systems if they perceive a loss of agency or if the transition costs-both cognitive and monetary-are misaligned with their immediate preferences.

A central theme in my work is the concept of choice architecture within transportation apps and infrastructure. My view suggests that by nudging commuters toward sustainable transit options through gamification or default settings cities can achieve higher utilization rates of public transit technology without resorting to restrictive mandates.

My view posits that the nudge is particularly effective in transportation because travel decisions are often habitual rather than rational. By modifying the environment-such as simplifying the interface for multi-modal trip planning-transportation technology can effectively bypass the cognitive inertia that keeps individuals locked into private vehicle ownership.
