The book portrays a system stifled by corruption and overrun by state gangsterism.The protagonist travels for a 3-day business trip to Tanzania and finds himself detained in the country for 5 months. A former business associate in Kenya where they both live decides to use corrupt officials in Tanzania and to manipulate the Tanzanian judicial system to try to extort money from him.The story reveals the failing of a judicial system overrun by gangsters in police uniforms and sanctioned by powerful individuals in the system. This saga continues for 5 months going through various jails in the Dar es Salaam and highlighting the plights of several individuals who have been denied justice by the system.After 5 months of legal battles agony and frustrations the protagonist is left with a difficult option of quietly sneaking out of the country to stop the nightmare.
