About The Book

This study investigated the identities and subjectivities constructed in an online environment in cyberspace based on the use of Scruff (a gay social networking app based on geolocation) which aims to mediate affective and sexual encounters by mapping the geolocation of users in a network. The analytical profile of this work is based on subjective self-promotion in the app which is typical of cyberculture and the relationships that are established from this point onwards and what escapes from this by carrying out an investigation using a qualitative descriptive and analytical research method adopting virtual ethnography based on gender theory and Queer Theory.
