Gems of Theories

The corpus of concepts and methods we utilise in the practical study of literature is referred to as literary theory. We dont mean the meaning of a piece of literature when we say literary theory; we mean the theories that indicate what literature might signify. Literary theory is an explanation of the fundamental ideas or tools that we use to try to understand literature. All literary interpretation has a theoretical foundation yet it can be used to justify a wide range of critical activities. Literary theory examines the significance of race class and gender for literary research both from the position of the authors biography and an analysis of their thematic content.
