About The Book

The various participants in the construction process are identified in what are called trades: structural work roofing plumbing electricity heating painting (for the building) roads lighting water networks (drinking water mains drainage rainwater) dry networks (electricity gas telephone fibre optics) and signalling (for public works). The general contractor is most often the one who carries out the structural work (construction of the structure) and subcontracts for the other trades. A construction project requires in addition to technical capabilities a major planning effort in order to meet the deadlines and financial envelope set with the project owner and the project manager to ensure that the various trades work together and to be supplied at the right time.
