Welcome beloved of God to A Modern Translation of the Bible! You're in for a ride! This translation focuses more on alternate texts (the Septuagint the Samaritan Torah the Peshitta) than merely on the Masoretic Text. This book carries a modern translation of the first book of the Bible: Genesis! Convincing dialogue and narrative give this translation a fresher view rather than the old Bible language of the King James Version. See the Preface for more about the translation work. Just what kind of translation is this though? Many classify translations into three groups: literal (or Word-for-Word) translations dynamic (or Thought-for-Thought) or a combination of both. Well as for this translation here it is more like a Thought-for-Thought translation than a Word-for-Word translation although I do strive for accuracy of the text. So to speak this is a combination.
