The basic element in the reproduction of an organism is the gene through which its characteristics and traits are transmitted to the offspring. Genetic refers to the characteristics related to this gene- sequence. In a family-centered society especially in a Hindu-Bengali family educated people have never given recognition to he marital relationship between a man and a woman among the relatives. Is it just a binding of the societal norms ? Or there is any other reason that is backed by science? What are the good and bad aspects behind this that still prevent Bengalis from establishing that relationship? Is that why the two families could not accept the romantic relationship between Joydeep and Rimpy? Then where is the end ? Is it logical? Or unreasonable ? The burden of that judgment will fall on the well-educated well-informed reader- society.
