Genetic biochemical and molecular studies in paint industry workers

About The Book

The over all results in the present investigation indicated that high levels of MDA (Malondialdehyde) observed in paint industry workers are indicative of increased oxidative stress. Nitric oxide levels were found to be significantly increased in paint industry workers. Nitric oxide acts as an oxidant at concentrations greater than the physiological levels resulting in oxidative stress. Increased lipid peroxidation reflects insufficient antioxidant protection in workers. The increased mean tail length of comet represents the genetic damage in paint industry workers. As the sample size is very small no concrete conclusion can be drawn.
