The demand for tomato is increasing day by day mostly because of the increased per capita fresh fruit consumption. Nonetheless as a perishable fruit crop it has relatively short life after ripening thus experiences remarkable post-harvest losses.Previous studies on insecticide weedicide and herbicide resistant genes available in the plants were more popular in the market. Our approach in this study is to evaluate the consistency and purity of seeds that are developed to control pest resistance. TD-PCR and FTIR studies will be used to test seed genetic purity of three commercial hybrid tomato seeds PHS165 HYVEG and CYGNUS varieties. Considering the increased importance and underlying mechanisms of tomato hybrids role in disease resistance particular objectives were set from the start of the experiment work for this present study:➢ Characterization of resistance genes in wild and hybrid seeds;➢ Quality check in tomato seeds among wild and hybrid;➢ Characterization of seed protein by FTIR and HPLC studies.
