About The Book

In this present investigation twelve hybrids’ germplasms of tomato were evaluated under modified naturally ventilated poly-house at the Vegetable Research Farm Department of Vegetable Science and Floriculture CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya Palampur during the spring-summer season (April-September) 2019 to estimate correlation and path analysis among horticultural traits and to evaluate these hybrid combinations for protected cultivation. Correlation coefficients revealed that fruit yield per plant had a positive and significant correlation with yield per meter square number of fruits per plant number of nodes per plant plant height and total soluble solids at both genotypic and phenotypic level. However it showed a negative and significant association with days to 50% flowering days to first picking and inter-nodal length. The path coefficient analysis revealed that maximum positive direct effect towards fruit yield per plant was contributed by yield per meter square followed by the number of fruits per plant days to first picking days to 50% flowering fruit shape index and pericarp thickness.
