GEOGRAPHY AND TOPONYMY OF SMALL TERRITORIES

In this monograph the toponymy and geography of small areas are covered by the example of Vobkent district of Bukhara region. The monograph consists of two parts. In its first part the geographical description of Vobkent district the history and types of study of toponyms and the etymological-geographical description of about 200 toponyms in the district are covered. In addition the main geographical terms in toponyms are defined and their explanation is described. Along with this the monograph covers some aspects of toponym formation and distribution in the desert zone of Uzbekistan.
