Both build on the founding principles of the Taylor Institution Library the Modern Languages Library at Oxford: to chart the development of 'Nationalliteratur' in the context of 'Weltliteratur' to look at how global perspectives have shaped German literature and to make visible how in turn German-language poetry pamphlets and philosophy has spread across the globe.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p><p class=ql-align-justify></p><p class=ql-align-justify><span style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1); background-color: rgba(0 0 0 0)>The volume combines contributions to different parts of the conference programme. It opens with a history of teaching and researching German abroad seen through the formation of the collections of the Taylor Institution Library in the 19th century. a new translation of a ground-breaking text by Natasha A.
