Gesture

The body is the source of the gesture I''ll be studying in this text. The body has an infinite spectrum of gestures some relating to communication others to artistic expression privacy production and so on. Not all these gestures are of the same nature. The gesture of communication is not the same as the spontaneous gesture of a child at play or the gesture of a dancer in motion. Some gestures are completely accidental. On the other hand tracings that are the result of gestural involvement - in other words of physical sensitive work with the material - acquire a presence that imposes itself in space.
