<div class=Section1><p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify'><st1:Street><st1:address>GHOLSON ROAD</st1:address></st1:Street> is the well-documented story of one family'srole in American history from early <st1:State><st1:place>Virginia</st1:place></st1:State>through early <st1:State><st1:place>Texas</st1:place></st1:State> during theperiod of the Old West.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'> </span>Anthony<sub>2</sub>fought with the <st1:State><st1:place>Virginia</st1:place></st1:State> militiain the Revolutionary War and leased land from George Washington.<spanstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'> </span>In 1801 at age 68 he moved his family westto <st1:State><st1:place>Kentucky</st1:place></st1:State>.<spanstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'> </span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify'>Samuel son of Anthony<sub>2</sub>fought in the War of 1812 participating in the <st1:City><st1:place>Battle</st1:place></st1:City>of the <st1:place>Thames</st1:place> and the Battle of New Orleans moved to <st1:place><st1:PlaceName>Arkansas</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType>Territory</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> then to <st1:State><st1:place>Texas</st1:place></st1:State>arriving in 1832 with his son Albert.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'> </span>They were members of Robertson's Colony while <st1:State><st1:place>Texas</st1:place></st1:State>was still a part of <st1:country-region><st1:place>Mexico</st1:place></st1:country-region>and were among the early Texas Rangers.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'> </span>Albert fought in most of the battles of the Texas Revolution and survivedmany Indian fights only to be killed by a neighbor.<spanstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'> </span>His sons Sam and Frank were also TexasRangers protecting the settlers and helping to retrieve several Indiancaptives.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'> </span>The brothers were persuadedto become Confederate soldiers by a lynch mob that threatened to kill them andtheir young wives if they did not.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'> </span>Afterthe Civil War they were involved in the cattle industry and the trail drivesof the late 1800s.</p></div>
