<p>Kyle drew his Colt revolver and fired hitting one of the gunmen. Up on the second floor landing Doc Holliday drew the gun from the small of his back and fired. Taggart took the bullet in his shoulder and tumbled down the staircase. From where Skeeter was standing it looked as if Kyle was the one who had shot Taggart. Skeeter turned to look at Doc whose gun was out of sight again. It did not appear as if he was even armed.
