This is an interesting experimental work on the mechanisms of size reduction of giant unilamellar vesicles due to extrusion through track etched membranes. The results include the effect of phospholipid bilayer composition extrusion pressure number of extrusions and size of initial vesicles on the size of extruded vesicles. Yogita has been able to demonstrate that a single pass extrusion method may be feasible to produce liposomes of desired size under reduced pressures. Further showing that the proposed method has a superior drug encapsulating potential than conventional method she has provided understanding. Overall her sincere efforts may facilitate better designing and control of liposomes for drug delivery --Prof. P. K. Bhattacharya IIT Kanpur.
